Recommendations

We recommend the carters to lower their rates, to prevent competition, viz. Eight pence a Ton for all Coals delivered as far as the corner of Mr. Roberts Sail loft along Tan y bont, and Skinner (?), and facing Capt William Pierces House in Pool Street - all Penymaes, & Smithfield, and for other Goods in Proportion, and other Parts one shilling and a like Proportion for others.

We recommend the present Bailiffs to examine strictly into all weights and measures used in this Town according to their Oaths, which several of their Predecessors have shamefully neglected.

We Recommend the Town Stewards to be more vigilant and diligent in recovering the Corporation Rents and also to let the Market House to the highest Bidder, instead of laying such heavy Warehouse Rent on Corn deposited there, which has driven all the Millers from it, and most Farmers, except on Rainy Days.

We further recommend that all strayd Horses, Cattle, & Sheep found depasturing on Morfa'r Saint and all such as do not belong to Persons occupying Land in this Parish should be Immediately impounded, and not released till proper Satisfaction be made for the Trespass.

We likewise strongly recommend the Removal of that Monument of Folly (a Pump sunk close to a copious spring of good Water) to a Part of the Green facing the Queen's Gate, where it may be very beneficial to that Neighbourhood, and advantageous to the Town at large, when the Conduits are in adequate to supply it with Water.
